The Tale of a 3 1/2 hour Hospital Trip...

Well lets just say to begin with that I am 39 weeks pregnant, and am apparently no closer to going into labor with this kid than a pig has a chance at flying. Well maybe I do have a better chance than those poor pigs, but it sure doesn't seem that way, he cant stay in there forever right?!? Yesterday i had another weekly doctors visit and since my doctor started to check me to see how far dilated I was from week 37 until now, I have had NO progress, yes you heard me right, absolutely nothing!! Chate just likes his little cozy home I suppose, but don't worry I issued an eviction notice, he has less than 2 weeks to get out or someone (meaning me) will go crazy.

Anyways back to the story. We went into the doctors office at 3:00 for my appointment, we meaning Chance and I (Chance has been to every single one of my appointment, hes such a good husband) we got into our room, and I now have the "bottoms off" rule. Oh yes its just fun sitting there pantless with a thin sheet across your lower half, its pretty much a paper towel sitting on your lap, it is a joy. My doctor came in and checked for dilation, and lo and behold, notta, oh my lanta seriously?! Well I asked her if she could strip my membranes and she said she could do that. Oh that was just pure torture, is hurt pretty bad like all up in my stomach and make you want to puke bad. But it might help get him here faster right? Anything for my baby haha. She then proceeded to check the heart beat. It sounded a little funky, like it was going fast then it would slow down and speed up again.

This kind of concerned her so she sent us over to labor and delivery for a fetal monitoring. She said it might not be a big deal many babies heart beats do that she just wanted to double check and make sure all was well. So we headed over to the place where I will hopefully soon be having this kid. The room was extremely nice and comforting which  helped to put my mind to ease a bit. Anyways, I got all hooked up to the monitor and I had the best nurse ever helping us out, she was great. Well we got to that room at about 4 o'clock and stayed there until after 6 waiting for my doctor to come in and review the results. I was starving at this point and was hoping everything was ok with the baby. My doctor came in and reviewed the results and all was well, he is perfect, and she also said I was having contractions regularly, but I just can't feel them...strange I thought, but I figured I shouldn't complain about not feeling contractions.

Anyways it was a long, slightly stressful day at the hospital, Chance did great, never seemed agitated even though we were there forever. But he would do anything for our baby :). But to end on a great positive note, Chance and I were able to sit and listen to our little guys heartbeat for over 2 hours, it seems so overwhelming to me still that I have a little baby boy inside me, I am in love with him already, and cannot wait for when the time finally arrives to bring him into our life. Just as a side note, Chance told me Chate is going to come on June 24th and weigh 7 lbs 12 oz. So if he is correct, I only have 4 more days until I meet Chate. I can do this for 4 more days, but I told Chance if he is wrong I will be not be happy lol. But he seems pretty confident about it so I will keep you posted. Its all just a waiting game from here :).

My First Nephew!!

Ok so I have to brag on my extremely cute little nephew a bit before my baby makes his grand entrance, because when that time arrives I believe my blog will be consumed with my baby Chate. But I have to say Bryden is such a cutie, and he has the cutest personality. My favorite thing that he does is when he tries to focus on something his eyes kind of go cross-eyed or go in different directions, its my absolute favorite thing, and it makes me laugh every time. Hopefully my baby will follow in his cousins footsteps. I love being an aunt, I just wish they lived a little closer to Chance and I because our babies will be so close in age, but thats ok, distance wont keep them apart :). They will be best cousin buddies and will have so much fun together at family get-togethers. I also can not believe that my little sister Kaysha had her first baby before me?! I always thought that I would have the first, being the oldest and all, but actually I am ok with this. I have been able to ask her SEVERAL questions pertaining mostly to labor right now, and I know I will have plenty more questions once Chate arrives. It is just so fun to have a sibling whom I was pregnant with at the same time, and now we can share our different experiences (whether they be good or bad) together and learn from each other. I do miss our baby tummy bumping though, we would bump tummies together, it was fun :). I love my little Bryden so much, I cannot imagine the love I will have for my own baby :). Only 2 1/2 more weeks for me to go!! Here are some cute pics of Bryden that I stole from my sister.
Cousins will be 3 months apart!

Love this picture. Gangster Bryden...even has the face down and the peace sign

The events of Weeks and days Past

I have not been neglecting my blog on purpose, I have very good reasons as to my absence. I was able to spend some time with family down in Ava! To start off the trip I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Cultural Celebration in Kansas City for the Kansas City Temple festivities. My siblings got to perform in that event and they did an amazing job singing and dancing. We had a special guest there as well...President Thomas S. Monson! He is just the most amazing and spiritual man, yet so very funny, he even showed us his talent of wiggling his ears :). I also went and saw the Liberty Jail with my parents and Kaysha and Bryden. Unfortunately Chance couldnt come yet, as he had a final in school to take that next week, but he came down later :). The next day was Sunday, we were able to watch the Temple dedication via satelite, it was very neat as well. The next couple of days were spent with my family, and slowly one by one, family from Utah showed up for the big events that were going to transpire over the weekend. It is always fun to have Utah family come down, since we don't get to see them that often. On friday came the first big event to kick off the weekend...my little sister Camille graduated from High School. I cannot believe how fast time goes, I have now been graduated for 4 years! I am so proud of Camille, she is such a light and example to everyone, she is so beautiful inside and out. She will be going to BYU in the fall. We will miss her so much, but I know that she will love college and will succeed in life with whatever she decides to do. Love you Camille! Oh I forgot to mention that she was Valedictorian of her class, shes a smarty just like me ;).
All my siblings + Bryden :)

Next up...My mom's graduation! Saturday morning she graduated from Drury University with a Degree in Sociology and General Studies. My mom showed great determination and strength by going back to school and finishing up her degree! Love you mom, congrats again!

Yup shes very beautiful

That night was my baby shower, sorry I dont have any pictures yet, but I will put them up once I get them. It was such a fun night full of friends, family, and games, oh, and I have one spoiled baby already for sure! Thanks to all my family who helped out to make it so special for me. The next day was Sunday, and we had Brydens baby blessing, Camille got her Young Women's Recognition award, and to top it off, it was Mothers Day! We had a yummy BBQ after church also. Yes, we are a family who tries to fit as many things into one weekend as we can!

I believe that I have the cutest nephew ever :)

He loves kisses from me :)

I was debating on whether or not to put this on here, but the reason that I did is, my feet swelled up to the size of South Africa, and I had to constantly prop up my feet, they were huge! Luckily they are back to almost normal now.

14 Mounds of grass on the lawn

This is what happens when your lawn has not been mowed for 2 weeks in Missouri....Needless to say we raked up 14 large piles of grass, and then raked those said piles into 4 very large piles of grass. The sad part is, we only raked the very worst parts of the lawn...

Lessons learned:

(1) Unless you want to spend 2 hours plus of unnecessary lawn work, you had better mow your lawn more frequently.

(2) We now know that we could bale hay from our lawn...seriously.

(3) And three, as you are putting the large piles of grass into trash bags, make sure that you are standing up hill from the wind or else you will get a large confetti like grass combobulation right in the face, enough said...

Piles before being consolidated into one large pile

In the name of Love and.. Mashed Potatoes?

For Sunday dinner last night I made dijon and itallian bread crumb chicken, mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, and green beens. I called to Chance that dinner was done, and let me tell you he comes a running like a water buffalo comes running to a river in the sahara dessert when I tell him dinner is done. He sat down, and after prayer I got up to get the rest of the chicken out of the oven, when I came back this is what I found on his plate...

He said it was to show his appreciation to me for all that I do, and how yummy of food I cook. I found this to be quite funny really, he isnt too artsy, but I guess when it comes to food art, he found his niche :). So this is a heart of mashed potatoes for me...later he said it was a jacuzzi of love, and he was going to eat it. Such an imagination this husband of mine :).
