Our Official "Last" Date Together Before The Baby Comes...

The impending and much anticipated due date for our little guy is fastly approaching. I will be induced Tuesday, and will be admitted into the hospital on Monday night. Actually knowing the date of when Chate will finally come into this world is scary/exciting/crazy all mixed into one. I cannot wait to hold my baby, but am slightly unnerved for how the induction will go, but I am thinking only positively! So, Chance and I wanted to do one last hoorah date together before the baby arrives, and our last full day together without kids, crazy to even think about that really.

We decided to splurge on ourselves, which we NEVER do since we are the poorest of poor college students right now, but we deserved a night out :). We started our evening off by going to Texas Roadhouse. We had never been there before and were very excited about it! The atmosphere there is very fun and upbeat, the staff was dancing and singing, at one point they even had a big armadillo walking around! Because it was our first time there the manager brought us out a sample plate of ribs, and different sides, Chance was very happy about this. I ordered the ribs, and Chance ordered BBQ chicken and steak. Holy cow the food was amazing, like fall apart in your mouth while the BBQ sauce is running down your mouth good. We took our time eating, and we just about ate everything on our plates. It was so nice being able to just relax and talk with my husband and laugh together, it was just like going on one of our firsts dates together all over again, geesh I love that man :).

The Sample Plate! YUM

My Ribs, they literally melted in my mouth

There is just no cute way to eat ribs...

After dinner we were going to see a movie, but had time to spare between, so we went over to the mall and looked to get Chance some new shoes since his current shoes should be thrown away. His toe can stick out the side of them, so it was deffinately time for a new pair. We tried Shoe Carnival but found nothing he liked, so we headed over to Old Navy to look around. We ended up getting him a couple shirts, also which he desperately needs, because wearing your old high school shirts at least 5 times a week just doesnt cut it when you have been graduated for 5 years, its time to get a "big boy" wardrobe. Dont worry I am working on it for him!

So, we still hadnt found any shoes, and decided to head over to Kohls and see if they had anything good. Luckily we got very lucky in many ways. First off Chance did find a really nice pair of shoes, and second off I got a Kitchenaid!! Yes you read that right. Here is the story: I have been wanting a Kitchenaid for forever but they are just so darn expensive like $450 expensive. But they were beckoning to me from across the mens shoe isle, and I could not pass up just looking at them, what could that hurt? Well, I was looking at the beauties and saw a sign that said the mixers were on sale for $209 with a Kohls charge card, which we had. I could not believe it, that was $250 off what they normally sold for! They were even the larger mixers with the attatchements, Chance and I both decided we could not pass this up. We went up to the cashier, and she rang it up, and it said $449.99,  Chance and I were like heck no, never mind there must be a mistake, so she called the manager, and the manager had someone go over and look at the sign saying they were for $209. Well, one of the employees had put the wrong sign out, and since it was their fault she gave us the mixer for $209 when it should have been the regualar $449! We were SO excited about the amazing deal, the manager said we got really lucky, and she then took down that sign haha. So we are now the proud owners of a Kitchenaid, and we already broke it in today by making oatmeal cookies, yum!

After Kohls we headed over to the movie Theater to watch Men In Black 3. It was actually very good, I really enjoyed, as did Chance of course. He loves action movies, and it was also very funny. I had such a great date with my husband, it was so nice holding hands while walking around and chatting and just enjoying every second alone together before the baby gets here and we are consumed with all things baby for a while. I am so grateful to be married to such a kind, hard working, loving, considerate, and handsome man, I could not ask for anyone better. I cannot wait to start our little family with him, he is going to be such a great dad, and already loves our baby so much. I truly am so blessed to have such a great marriage, which I think now-a-days are few and far between unfortunately. I guess I just lucked out, and am so glad that I did. Love you babe :).

The Tale of a 3 1/2 hour Hospital Trip...

Well lets just say to begin with that I am 39 weeks pregnant, and am apparently no closer to going into labor with this kid than a pig has a chance at flying. Well maybe I do have a better chance than those poor pigs, but it sure doesn't seem that way, he cant stay in there forever right?!? Yesterday i had another weekly doctors visit and since my doctor started to check me to see how far dilated I was from week 37 until now, I have had NO progress, yes you heard me right, absolutely nothing!! Chate just likes his little cozy home I suppose, but don't worry I issued an eviction notice, he has less than 2 weeks to get out or someone (meaning me) will go crazy.

Anyways back to the story. We went into the doctors office at 3:00 for my appointment, we meaning Chance and I (Chance has been to every single one of my appointment, hes such a good husband) we got into our room, and I now have the "bottoms off" rule. Oh yes its just fun sitting there pantless with a thin sheet across your lower half, its pretty much a paper towel sitting on your lap, it is a joy. My doctor came in and checked for dilation, and lo and behold, notta, oh my lanta seriously?! Well I asked her if she could strip my membranes and she said she could do that. Oh that was just pure torture, is hurt pretty bad like all up in my stomach and make you want to puke bad. But it might help get him here faster right? Anything for my baby haha. She then proceeded to check the heart beat. It sounded a little funky, like it was going fast then it would slow down and speed up again.

This kind of concerned her so she sent us over to labor and delivery for a fetal monitoring. She said it might not be a big deal many babies heart beats do that she just wanted to double check and make sure all was well. So we headed over to the place where I will hopefully soon be having this kid. The room was extremely nice and comforting which  helped to put my mind to ease a bit. Anyways, I got all hooked up to the monitor and I had the best nurse ever helping us out, she was great. Well we got to that room at about 4 o'clock and stayed there until after 6 waiting for my doctor to come in and review the results. I was starving at this point and was hoping everything was ok with the baby. My doctor came in and reviewed the results and all was well, he is perfect, and she also said I was having contractions regularly, but I just can't feel them...strange I thought, but I figured I shouldn't complain about not feeling contractions.

Anyways it was a long, slightly stressful day at the hospital, Chance did great, never seemed agitated even though we were there forever. But he would do anything for our baby :). But to end on a great positive note, Chance and I were able to sit and listen to our little guys heartbeat for over 2 hours, it seems so overwhelming to me still that I have a little baby boy inside me, I am in love with him already, and cannot wait for when the time finally arrives to bring him into our life. Just as a side note, Chance told me Chate is going to come on June 24th and weigh 7 lbs 12 oz. So if he is correct, I only have 4 more days until I meet Chate. I can do this for 4 more days, but I told Chance if he is wrong I will be not be happy lol. But he seems pretty confident about it so I will keep you posted. Its all just a waiting game from here :).

My First Nephew!!

Ok so I have to brag on my extremely cute little nephew a bit before my baby makes his grand entrance, because when that time arrives I believe my blog will be consumed with my baby Chate. But I have to say Bryden is such a cutie, and he has the cutest personality. My favorite thing that he does is when he tries to focus on something his eyes kind of go cross-eyed or go in different directions, its my absolute favorite thing, and it makes me laugh every time. Hopefully my baby will follow in his cousins footsteps. I love being an aunt, I just wish they lived a little closer to Chance and I because our babies will be so close in age, but thats ok, distance wont keep them apart :). They will be best cousin buddies and will have so much fun together at family get-togethers. I also can not believe that my little sister Kaysha had her first baby before me?! I always thought that I would have the first, being the oldest and all, but actually I am ok with this. I have been able to ask her SEVERAL questions pertaining mostly to labor right now, and I know I will have plenty more questions once Chate arrives. It is just so fun to have a sibling whom I was pregnant with at the same time, and now we can share our different experiences (whether they be good or bad) together and learn from each other. I do miss our baby tummy bumping though, we would bump tummies together, it was fun :). I love my little Bryden so much, I cannot imagine the love I will have for my own baby :). Only 2 1/2 more weeks for me to go!! Here are some cute pics of Bryden that I stole from my sister.
Cousins will be 3 months apart!

Love this picture. Gangster Bryden...even has the face down and the peace sign

Baby shower #2!!

Last Saturday some of my friends here in Columbia threw me a really great baby shower. The theme was airplanes, and the decorations were so cute, and the food was very good! Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special and fun for me and everyone who was there. I am so thankful to have such great friends- also thanks to my mom for spending the day with me as well :) love you
