F is for Family

School is out for the summer! Chance is all done with this semester, and the light at the end of the tunnel is drawing nearer with the ending of each semester. I was so ready to have Chance home more, he is a great dad, and is such a help to me when he is home. I think I will keep him around ;). Camille came home from BYU for a bit, and we wanted to see her and the fam, so we made a last minute trip to Ava. Whenever we visit our family it is a whirlwind of visiting both sides of our family, it is Taco Bell runs, it is Chates first time on a park swing, it is Chance and I going on a date (love us some willing babysitters), it is green rolling hills, and it is valuable time spent with our loved ones. The days blur together and time goes by really too fast. One thing I want to mention about our date..we took my mother-in-laws Jeep to Springfield, and we had a slight bit of a hiccup with her car breaking down, and us stranded off of the road close to Fordland for 2 hours. Thankfully we have some mechanics in our family, and Chances brother Drew came and rescued us and even brought our car so we could continue on with our "hot" date. So grateful to have spent time with my husband, talking and catching up with each other, trying to talk of something other than Chate, but gosh that is hard to do, he seems to creep into pretty much all of our conversations, we sure do love that little boy. All in all it was a great way to kick off our summer vacation. I am excited to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Aunt Camille

Aunt Camille came home from BYU for a couple weeks, and she came up to Columbia to see us! We went shopping, ate out and had lots of fun talking, laughing, and catching up, it was so nice to have you back for a little while Camille! Love you and miss you already!

Mothers Day

Well I am a little late in posting this, but I just wanted to say how wonderful of a first Mothers Day I had being a mom to Chate. It is amazing what kind of happiness that little human brings into my life. He brings light into my life through his eyes, making me relive special childhood moments, that we too often forget about. Taking joys in the smallest of things, and not having a care in the world. I have learned so much about being a mom from Chate, he has taught me selfless love, being adventurous, taking delight in even the smallest happenings, and having love for everyone around you. I couldn't imagine what life would be like if we did not have children to teach us how to live. I am so grateful to be a mom, and to have such great examples of motherhood in my life, my mom is my strength and my go-to for any struggles/joys that I am facing with the daily grind of life. Thanks to all of the wonderful mothers out there who truly put their heart and soul into raising their children with love.

10 months

Well it is that time again for the monthly Chate-update! Really though I feel like I just did this! My how quickly time passes. I will start off with some big news: Chate is no longer a gummer baby! A couple of days ago his first tooth popped through! His bottom left tooth has stolen the show, and in my mind taken away a part of my baby, he is growing and getting bigger, bitter-sweet. I didn't even know that he was teething though, he has not been fussy at all, I hope that continues! On another note, Chate can now stand on his own, but he chickens out after about 5 or so seconds and flops down on his tush. He walks along everything from the couches, to shimmying across the walls, and he also loves to walk with his push-along walker. He is an avid patty-cake player, and will clap his chubby hands together and roll his arms (hands) as best he can, it is so cute! Chate has such a good nature about him, and loves to give mommy kisses, and loves, melts my heart every time. He is mine and Chances little shadow and we love every second of it. There really is no greater a calling than that of being a mother, I love teaching him, reading to Chate, playing, snuggling, chasing, wiping away the boogers, cleaning his messy face after eating, I just love it all and wouldn't change it for the world. Love you baby boy.
