The Tale of a 3 1/2 hour Hospital Trip...

Well lets just say to begin with that I am 39 weeks pregnant, and am apparently no closer to going into labor with this kid than a pig has a chance at flying. Well maybe I do have a better chance than those poor pigs, but it sure doesn't seem that way, he cant stay in there forever right?!? Yesterday i had another weekly doctors visit and since my doctor started to check me to see how far dilated I was from week 37 until now, I have had NO progress, yes you heard me right, absolutely nothing!! Chate just likes his little cozy home I suppose, but don't worry I issued an eviction notice, he has less than 2 weeks to get out or someone (meaning me) will go crazy.

Anyways back to the story. We went into the doctors office at 3:00 for my appointment, we meaning Chance and I (Chance has been to every single one of my appointment, hes such a good husband) we got into our room, and I now have the "bottoms off" rule. Oh yes its just fun sitting there pantless with a thin sheet across your lower half, its pretty much a paper towel sitting on your lap, it is a joy. My doctor came in and checked for dilation, and lo and behold, notta, oh my lanta seriously?! Well I asked her if she could strip my membranes and she said she could do that. Oh that was just pure torture, is hurt pretty bad like all up in my stomach and make you want to puke bad. But it might help get him here faster right? Anything for my baby haha. She then proceeded to check the heart beat. It sounded a little funky, like it was going fast then it would slow down and speed up again.

This kind of concerned her so she sent us over to labor and delivery for a fetal monitoring. She said it might not be a big deal many babies heart beats do that she just wanted to double check and make sure all was well. So we headed over to the place where I will hopefully soon be having this kid. The room was extremely nice and comforting which  helped to put my mind to ease a bit. Anyways, I got all hooked up to the monitor and I had the best nurse ever helping us out, she was great. Well we got to that room at about 4 o'clock and stayed there until after 6 waiting for my doctor to come in and review the results. I was starving at this point and was hoping everything was ok with the baby. My doctor came in and reviewed the results and all was well, he is perfect, and she also said I was having contractions regularly, but I just can't feel them...strange I thought, but I figured I shouldn't complain about not feeling contractions.

Anyways it was a long, slightly stressful day at the hospital, Chance did great, never seemed agitated even though we were there forever. But he would do anything for our baby :). But to end on a great positive note, Chance and I were able to sit and listen to our little guys heartbeat for over 2 hours, it seems so overwhelming to me still that I have a little baby boy inside me, I am in love with him already, and cannot wait for when the time finally arrives to bring him into our life. Just as a side note, Chance told me Chate is going to come on June 24th and weigh 7 lbs 12 oz. So if he is correct, I only have 4 more days until I meet Chate. I can do this for 4 more days, but I told Chance if he is wrong I will be not be happy lol. But he seems pretty confident about it so I will keep you posted. Its all just a waiting game from here :).

  1. I'm sorry it feels like it is going on forever. I think it is sweet that Chance comes with you to every Dr's visit, Jason did that with Josh but after Josh was born Eric and Eden I did solo. I guess it becomes routine when you have more kids. Keep the magic of having a baby alive it will make all the difference when you are holding your precious little boy. Good Luck Love Ya!

  2. Haha love it. I know how it feels to get down to the last bit. I was 39 1/2 weeks when I had Gavin. Even the thought of making it to 40 seemed unbearable. But it will come and go so fast. You're going to be such a good mommy :) I can't wait to see pictures of your cute little guy!
